The project is called ‘Ride to Moscow’ was created to promote the fund ‘A door for life’ to support orphan children in Russia. People can accompany the three cyclists by bike until the border with Slovenia. “It is an opportunity for everyone to have a fun day and to contribute to the fundraising for orphan children in Russia” comments the president of the Association Paolo Ferraris. “To support the ‘Ride to Moscow’ project we have created ‘A door for life’ fund into which the raised money will deposited into. These funds will serve to build an orientation centre for children between the ages of 10 and 18 to help them through their formative years. We would like to put these children in contact with society outside of the institute where they grew up, focusing on two fundamental aspects: school and work. Aside from the possibility for them to continue their studies, we aim to teach them a trade and help them integrate into society. We believe that teaching them a trade and helping them integrate themselves into the job market is very important in order to give these children the best possible chance for a better future and to shelter them from the risks of deviance, criminality and drug use.
