(August 18, 2016) Open to the public until September 10 at the Italian Institute of Culture in Santiago De Chile, the exhibition “De un país sin nombre” is a creative reflection on the lives of children refugee. Francisca Yañez is the artist star of the exhibition, a new chapter of “Incontri 1”, the annual IIC project that recounts – with five exhibitions – cultural exchanges between Italy and Chile. “De un país sin nombre” – curated by Varinia Brodsky – put the spotlight on childhood, exile and drama caused by the forced abandonment of their homes by children refugee: those of yesterday, that as Francisca had to leave Chile and go to Europe (many went to Italy) because of the military coup, and those who even today in various parts of the world continue to suffer the same tragedy, facing reality often characterized by exclusion, marginalization and xenophobia. The exhibition is organized by the Institute of Culture in Santiago in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy. (Red)
