Kabul. In the presence of President Ashraf Ghani and the Italian Ambassador in Kabul, Robert Canton, the opening ceremony of a major road from Kabul to Bamyan was held in recent days. It measures 136 kilometers, constructed thanks to funding from the Italian Cooperation of €99.4 million. The road is part of the east-west corridor of the country (from Kabul to Herat) and the north-south corridor between Mazar-e Sharif and Kabul including a mountain pass 3,500 meters above sea level ( Onai and Hajigak). Thanks to this infrastructure project, the Kabul-Bamyan travel time decreased from 13 to 2.5 hours. (9Colonne)
