(September 9, 2016) Pollino park, medieval fortresses, villages huddled in the shelter of mountains and castles. Hard not to be impressed by the beauty that Basilicata – land of art and nature – jealously holds. Surely the landscapes of Basilicata have won over a group of Maltese photographers. In recent days a Maltese delegation went to Matera where it will stay until Sunday. Their goal? Portray with their suggestive shots the landscape and rural heritage of Lucania in order to arrange a photo exhibition in Malta (destination that recorded in 2015 more than 4 million tourists). The assessor for Agriculture and Forestry of the Basilicata Region, Luca Braia, presented the delegation of fifteen photographers to journalists. The director general of the Department of Agriculture, Giovanni Oliva, President of the Malta Institute of Professional Photography, Kevin Casha, and the president of the association Matera Photographic Culture, Roberto Linzalone, also attended the press conference. Oliva explained that the photographic project comes with its own strategy aim at achieving specific goals. “Our idea – said, then, Kevin Casha – is to meet photographers from different countries. We went to China and other smaller countries to initiate an exchange of photographic projects “. The Maltese delegation will reach the Palatine Tables, surrounding orchards, Marinagri and then the evocative Rabatana Tursi, where it will find inspiration to make unique shots that will be represented in an exhibition and then collected in a photo-book.
