(13 December 2016) As part of the “Projet Contrainte et Intégration: Reevaluation pour une des spectacles forains italiens et sous l’Ancien Régime” and on the occasion of the tercentenary of the reopening of the Comédie-Italienne in Paris (1716), the Équipe Littérature et Cultures Italiennes (ELCI EA-1496) is organising an international conference (Thursday, December 15-10) to discuss the different aspects of artistic activities of Italian actors in Paris. The conference will focus on the developments of international scientific research in recent years and make room for new paths to better understand the role and importance of the Comédie-Italienne and its team in the political and dramaturgical changes in the Lumières theatre. The interdisciplinary approach of the conference will define the administrative elements and the ties with French cultural policy; the contribution of Italian and French theatre actors to the formation of new forms of drama and, finally, their contribution to the development of a new theory of acting.
