Soči. Managing Director of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, and Eni’s CEO, Claudio Descalzi, have signed a Cooperation Agreement that will allow the two companies to cooperate in the sectors of Exploration & Production, Refining, Trading, Logistics & Marketing, Petrochemicals, and Technology & Innovation, both in Russia and abroad. The agreement was signed in Soči in the presence of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and the Italian Prime Minister, Paolo Gentiloni. A statement from ENI states that the meeting further consolidates the agreements previously signed for the joint development of exploratory activities in the Black Sea and the Barents Sea. It will also lay the foundations for further opportunities between the two companies, including collaboration in the Zohr field. As for the downstream, the parties will evaluate the use of proprietary ENI technology for heavy oil residue processing at Rosneft refineries and co-operation in refining activities where Eni and Rosneft have quotas.
