(26 July 2017) A 26-day and 4,200-kilometre-long bike ride starting in Bologna across Italy, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, arriving in Cape North – the Northern-most point of Europe. This is the journey that Mara Magni, a PhD candidate in theoretical physics at the University of Bologna and a ‘Terracini in Transizione’ activist, has decided to take on. The project was designed to transform the Via Terracini campus of the University of Bologna School of Engineering and Architecture into a living-lab of sustainability. Mara’s mission, is more than a personal challenge. The purpose is also to promote cycling and environmental sustainability, supported by the University of Bologna, with Rector Francesco Ubertini, who met the doctoral candidate to wish her good luck before leaving.
