London. The UK is eighth in beer production in the world, and is first in the world for craft breweries per capita (25 per million inhabitants) and the fifth largest exporter of beer globally. Yet in the first eight months of 2017, the turnover linked to the exportation of beer drums and bottles of Italian beer reached almost €40 million. If the export of beer barrels has slightly decreased, guaranteeing a business volume of €8,944 million, the export of bottled beer on the other hand has exceeded a €30 million turnover, increasing by 7.3% compared to 2016, amounting to €30.780 million. It is an encouraging trend especially for artisanal microbreweries and combination of quality and refined taste. (9Colonne)
