Madrid. The Italian Ambassador in Madrid, Stefano Sannino, recently inaugurated the exhibition “IILA 50 years, an Italo-Latin American dream” at Casa de América. The event was attended by the Director of Casa de América, Santiago Miralles, the IILA Secretary-General, Donato Di Santo, and the IILA President, Ambassador Luis Iberico. Numerous members of the Latin American diplomatic corps in Madrid, journalists, and academics attended. Ambassador Sannino wished to commemorate the work of two Italian diplomats, Piero De Masi and Enrico Calamai, who worked in Latin America under the Chilean and Argentine military dictatorships and helped hundreds of exiles.
