(Aug. 27) – Friulian companies are preparing for the 48th edition of the international fair “Facim” in Maputo, Mozambique, to be held from today and until September 2. Nine companies from Friuli, in fact, will be present at the joint stand organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Udine in cooperation with the chambers of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The initiative, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Maputo, follows the first trade mission made in Mozambique last March and part of the activities of a specific project co-funded by the Regional Law 11/2011. “It’s the first concrete result of the project we started in Mozambique,” said the President of Unioncamere Friuli Venezia Giulia, Giovanni Da Pozzo, “and we wanted to respond to a direct request from the companies that have expressed interest in this new market, in which the numbers are not yet significant but show a consistent and significant growth.” Exports from Friuli in 2011 have in fact increased by 150% over the previous year and the Mozambican economy is growing at a rate of 7% per year, pushing foreign investors to establish trade with companies from the Friuli Venezia Giulia in various sectors, from construction to alternative energy, tourism and machinery for the processing and storage of foods.
