Nov. 29 – From Saturday 19 to Sunday, January 27, the Tour & Taxis exhibition space in Brussels (Avenue du Port 86 C) introduces the first art exhibition of 2013: “Brafa Brussels Antiques & Fine Arts.” The exhibition is the trendiest in its sector in Europe, as well as being the oldest. Among the 128 international galleries, Italy confirms the presence of Helena Markus and Copetti Antiques, and the first participation of Caiati & Gallo and Il Quadrifoglio. Helena Markus, a traditional participant of the Belgian event, combines the tradition of Japanese screen decorations with works from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century, including a double panel from the Kano Eitoku school, and Japanese contemporary art such as sculptures in wood and porcelain by Sueharu Fukami . Copetti Antiques Gallery specializes in ancient sculpture and contemporary Italian art, bringing to the forefront a table by Giacomo Manzù and an important work of architecture by the Burelli studio presented at the Venice Biennale of 1982. Furthermore, 43 drawings and a wooden model in scale of four mosques built by Sinan at the end of the fifteenth century in Istanbul will also be on display. The Milanese gallery Caiati & Gallo, specializing in Old Master, will propose two landscapes of Venice by Bison and James as well as a table and a plaque in Palermo micromosaic dating back to the nineteenth century. Augusto Brun Il Quadrifoglio brings a selection of works by Italian eighteenth century artists, including a sculpture of Hercules and Omphale in biscuit porcelain.
