Jan. 31 – From Central to Northern Europe, all the way to the Southern Iberian Peninsula, Sardinia is always at the forefront of the international tourism market- And until Sunday, it will be at “Fitur” in Madrid. In the most prestigious exhibition hosted by the Spanish industry, operators in the accommodation sector, accredited by the Regional Tourist Board, will propose the Sardinian touristic offer, and its various products: beach tourism, nature and sports tourism, cultural and religious tourism, food and wine tourism, providing information on the early season events including Carnival and rites of the Holy Week. “Touristic demand from Spain – said the Regional Councilor of Tourism, Luigi Crisponi – is exactly what Sardinia offers. In the past 3 years, Sardinia has seen an inflow of about 70 000 arrivals from Spain, for a total of about 225 000 visitors. It is an important market slice for our island operators and for the ongoing exchange between the two areas of the Mediterranean. The increased flight frequency also strengthens an already close cultural proximity between our two peoples.”
