Feb. 20 – While waiting for the release of his latest album as a trio for Abeat Records (scheduled for next spring) that will be presented with a sightseeing tour of Italy, Andrea Pozza, acclaimed jazz pianist and composer from Genoa, will be engaged in a series of concerts abroad both as front man and sideman. In the European tour he will play the piano for the Franco Ambrosetti quintet in Germany and later in Switzerland. Andrea will perform, on February 22, at the Jazz Club 56 Lörrach of Brombach, Germany, while February 23 he will be in Thalwil, Switzerland. The tour then moves to London and Liège (Belgium) before coming to an end on April 28 at the Festival International de Jazz de Constantine, Algeria. Andrea Pozza in the UK will be part of a quartet with English saxophonist Christian Brewer. The artist is also busy in numerous recording projects: his most recent album is “Gull’s Flight,” recorded with the Andrea Pozza European Quintet, sees the participation of Christian Brewer on sax alto and Shane Forbes on drums, and the Dick DeGraaf on sax tenor and soprano and Jos Machtel to the bass.
