Apr. 1 – After passing an international selection in the fall, Gianna Angelini, who for several years has been teaching and research at the University of Macerata, will officially become part of the Planetary Collegium Plymouth, as a researcher for the next two years. Angelini is so far the only Italian to join the group of postdoctoral researchers. “This is an important result – says the Dean Luigi Lacchè – that, in addition to honoring the entire University, confirms the validity of our researchers and their work. It shows that Macerata has a European dimension, is in the middle of an internationalization process, creating networks and research systems that compete in the field of strategic research.” The Planetary Collegium, founded in 1994 thanks to an initiative by Roy Ascott, its current president, is an international platform for research that promotes the integration of art, technology and consciousness studies. In 2011 the center was awarded the prize for Best Practice in Higher Education by the World Universities Forum Award and is a center of experimental research at the forefront of innovations in the field of art and new technologies. “My research – explains Professor Angelini – is methodological. Its object is the study of new forms of artistic communication in the media. Its ambition is to develop a constructive proposal for processing / interpreting creative thinking, consistent with applied Testologic Semiotics and the role of art in terms of pedagogy.”
