Apr. 9 – First day of business for TheMicam Shanghai, in front of a huge audience and buyers. The Shoe Fair travels for the first time from Italy to China, and in the prestigious Shanghai Exhibition Center, the ribbon-cutting ceremony saw the participation of the President of the Marche Region, Gian Mario Spacca and the president of ANCI national Cleto Sagripanti. After a visit to the stand, Spacca presented Pat-Points, technical assistance points for companies in China. In his speech at the inauguration, the President emphasized the “courage of Marche entrepreneurs that put all their efforts in making sure that such an event would live up to everybody’s expectations. The footwear sector in the Marche sees great potential in the Chinese market.” Spacca recalled the role that China plays for Marche export, in particular in the footwear sector, and also mentioned the key role played by this sector in the regional economy. “Footwear – he said – accounts for 16% of regional GDP, ensuring a great deal of steady employment.”
