Oct. 16 – Erick Thohir makes his move in Italian football, becoming the new majority shareholder of the Inter Milan football club. And the fact that his brother is called Garibaldi is really little consolation for the club’s fans. Indeed, even though the team is officially “International,” its history is forever embedded within that of Italy’s football championships. Yesterday, 70% of the club’s shares of the club’s was formally transferred from Massimo Moratti to Thohir. Yet, the Chamber of Commerce of Monza and Brianza informed that for one Italian company controlled by an Indonesian group (a rarity since until 2011 there were only 2 Italian companies controlled by Indonesian investors), there are 66 enterprises in Indonesia controlled by Italian investors. The figures emerge from an elaboration by the Research Department of the Chamber of Commerce of Monza and Brianza Coeweb on Istat Coeweb, Reprint and Politecnico di Milano – Ice data.
