Dec. 5 – The Russians are increasingly attracted to Italy and its culture, and Puglia artists will be the protagonists of the Winter Gardens Art, held in Moscow from December 10 to 13, as part of the Festival of Italian art in Russia. The event is sponsored by the Cesvir (Italo-Russian economy and development center) in collaboration with the management for international programs, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Municipality of Bari. The even constitutes a real journey, which begins with the evocative images of Bari from the sea, with the traveling photo exhibition “Mirages. St. Nicholas of Bari,” curated by Roberto Sibilano. The Festival will explore with the music and songs Puglia’s expanding horizons within Italian culture. In the four days of the festival, there will be various performances. The pop group, Terraross, will open the even and paint scenes of daily life: people shouting in the streets and markets, the anxiety of hard work in the fields, love, poetry and the charm of old serenades. Pianists Gemma Di Battista and Marilena Di Liso will follow, with a four hands concert exploring the Italian-Russian classical music repertoire. The same concept will be analyzed in a master class to be held at the College PI Tchaikovsky. The Quintetto Mezzotono will hold an a cappella concert, with a repertoire that explores different Italian musical styles: swing, bossa nova, mambo, tango… The delegation of artists, alongside institutional representatives and entrepreneurs, will be guests at Serghiev Posad, the holy city with which Bari is twinned since 2011.
