Dec. 24 – Industry, trade and agriculture come together in a multi-sector trade mission to Johannesburg and Gaborone. Reggio Emilia businesses will spend a week in March (16-21) in South Africa and in the capital of the Republic of Botswana to understand, appreciate and create stable and lasting business relations with the two countries. Both countries – says the Chamber of Commerce of Reggio Emilia, which promotes the initiative – are part of the Southern African Development Community, an international organization that pursues regional cooperation and socio-economic integration, as well as political and security cooperation among the fifteen African participating countries. In the medium term, further integration of the business community with the East African Community and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (Comesa) is expected, thus forming a free trade area with approximately 525 million consumers. The Chamber of Commerce of Emilia promotes the mission in collaboration with Promos – Special Agency of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan. Emilia companies will later continue their Chamber of Commerce-sponsored promotional activities in support of local businesses in the Indian market. After the B2B meetings at the Saie exhibition in Bologna last October in collaboration with Messe Bologna, a trade mission to India for the building and construction sector will take place in early 2014.
