Apr. 2 – “I’d like to thank those who so generously gave me my life back, but a pair of shoes would’ve been enough,” as the aphorism by Giovanni Soriano says. These words summarize the charm of shoes beyond their mere everyday use. And when it comes to Italian shoes, their charm knows no boundaries. From today until Friday, the ICE is organizing, in cooperation with Assocalzaturificii, an independent display of Italian shoes in Almaty, Kazakhstan. “The Kazaki market – explains the ICE – is one of the most promising for Italian fashion. In 2013, shoe exports to the country increased. And today, thanks to buyer missions and events organized by the ICE, we are able to offer Italian producers a chance to meet with regional operators, from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.” Data concerning the January-September 2013 period show that Italian shoe exports to the Kazak market have increase by 9,1% in value and by 11,6% in quantity over the same period in 2012. The event is open to all companies of the sector producing medium to high range shoes. The fair will give said companies to present their 2014/2015 Fall-Winter collections.
