Houston – Eni successfully drilled its horizontal first exploration well (Stallings 1H) under the Agreement with Quicksilver Resources to evaluate, explore and develop non-conventional oil resources in the southern part of the Delaware basin, in the Pecos County, West Texas, about 700 miles northwest of Houston. The well was drilled to a vertical depth of 2,250 meters and then completed on a horizontal section of 900 meters. It currently produces 750 barrels of oil equivalent per day, 90% of which are represented by oil. The production obtained from the Stallings 1H well is among the highest found in this portion of the Delaware Basin and represents a promising start for Eni’s activities in unconventional oil resources in the United States. The start of production is planned for the beginning of September. (9Colonne)
