London – Ivano Alessandri, a young researcher in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, of the University of Brescia, is last year’s winner of the NEST Prize for research in nanoscience (National Enterprise for Nanoscience and nanotechnology). NEST is an interdisciplinary research and training center hosting physicists, chemists and biologists. Alessandri won the award for his “Enhancing Raman scattering without plasmons: unprecedented sensitivity Achieved by TiO2 shell-based resonators,” published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society in 2013. The results of subsequent research carried out with the group of Chemistry for Technologies (Chem4Tech-DIMI) at the University of Brescia, coordinated by Professor Laura Eleonora Depero, were published in the journal Nanotechnology, and were featured on portalenanotechweb.org. the online portal of the Institute of Physics in London, a benchmark for the international scientific community working in this field.
