Hamburg – A selection of photographs by Alberto Bregani – one of the best mountain photographers – will be on display at the Italian Cultural Institute in Hamburg until January 16. The exhibition “Only the wind,” by the photographer from Cortina d’Ampezzo, is a project promoted by the Emigration Office on the occasion of the centenary of the Great War. The photographs document the Path of Peace, a path of more than 500 km from the Tonale Pass to the Marmolada, along the Trentino Alps, on what was once the front line of the First World War. The trail was set up between 1986 and 1990 by Consorzio Lavoro Ambiente and the Servizio Protezione della Natura e Protezione Ambientale as part of a special project for the creation of jobs, nature conservation and environmental improvement of the Autonomous Province of Trento. The Path of Peace is not your usual hiking trail; its purpose is to make sure that those who cross it reflect on war and its consequences. (9Colonne)
