Cannes – The countdown to the 68th edition of the world’s biggest film festival has officially begun. On Wednesday, May 13, the Cannes Festival kicks off, marking the rebirth of Italian cinema in the event. In fact, there are three Italian feature films in competition: Il Racconto dei Racconti by Matteo Garrone, La Giovinezza by Paolo Sorrentino and Mia Madre by Nanni Moretti. A trifecta that hadn’t happened since 1994: after France, with five selected films, Italy comes in second on par with the United States. (9Colonne)
