May 13 – Albania is one of the last countries to have obtained the status of candidate to join the European Union, and to benefit from the connected EU programs and opportunities. In Albania, Fyouture – a social promotion association – maintains a number of cooperation relationships, especially in the field of youth policy. Last January, Fyouture, in collaboration with the Albanian organization Youth Centre Borderless, organized the seminar “Being young in Europe” in Tirana, starting a debate on European citizenship and youth employment with seventy young Albanians. The organization in now scaling up, bringing to Vlora and Biella two European youth exchanges. The first sees the collaboration of the Mena Group, led by Morena Halilaj in Tirana, and will be held May 31 – June 9, with the participation of 20 young Italians and Albanians, all between 18 and 30 years of age, who will meet experts and will work on tourism and youth employment in dedicated workshops. The second exchange will take place in Italy, in Biella, on June 16-23, with the cooperation of the Youth Centre Borderless, led by Frida Bahjia. This time, the event brings together ten young Italians and Albanians, between 13 and 14 years of age, who will discuss, through specific workshops, the environment and the waste recycling (how to turn waste into useful objects in everyday life and in art objects). On May 15-18, Biella will also host a preventive examination for the second project, a meeting between the leaders of the two groups with one participant per group, and help define the details of the exchange activities and verify logistics.
