May 28 – The Italian National Council of Geologists and the Order of Geologists of the Republic of San Marino will sign today an agreement for the mutual recognition of continuing education courses. A protocol “with which the mutual recognition between the two organizations in the field of continuing vocational training becomes official,” explains Fabio Pedini, Chairman of the Order of Geologists of the Republic of San Marino. “With this protocol, the two National Councils come to the mutual recognition of continuing professional education. This is only the first step towards other forms of cooperation, which we are currently discussing, in light of increased cooperation.” The protocol will be signed in the Board Room of the City of San Marino, made available by the Township Council. “The San Marino Republic is geographically small, but affected by the same hydrogeological phenomena that nearby Italian regions face. The difference is that in San Marino there is more maintenance and perhaps geologists have a greater weight in the institutional policies. It’s not by chance that the Head of our Civil Protection – concludes President Pedini – is a geologist.” (Sis)
