Chicago – To honor the 400th anniversary of Galileo Galilei’s letter to Christina of Lorraine, Grand Duchess of Tuscany, Loyola University in Chicago collaborated with the Consulate General of Chicago, the Italian Cultural Institute and ItalCultura. The American university hosted on 13 November a concert by Joel Spears and choir for chamber music. The choir performed the Psalm “In exitu Israel”, with music by Vincenzo Galilei and madrigals by Monteverdi. Other events, as part of the Galilean celebrations, will take place on Nov. 18, 19 and 20 November, February 4 and 18, and in April. (9Colonne)
