MOSCOW – More than 800 Italian labels, representing individual winemakers, collectives from the Chambers of Commerce of Udine and Gorizia-Friuli Venezia Giulia, IW & SP – Italian Wine & Style Promotion and the Veneto Region and a careful selection of the most influential importers in the wine sector – for a total of about 2000 visitors – are attending the 12th edition of Vinitaly Russia, held at the Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy Moscow. For the occasion, Vinitaly International renewed its commitment to host master classes and trainings abroad, by organizing a wide range of initiatives aimed at promoting Italian wine in a difficult, yet promising market like the Russian one. The situation in Russia is complex and changing: the devaluation of the ruble with the loss of purchasing power of the middle class, the crisis in Ukraine and the Russian embargo against US and EU sanctions are all reasons why it is not easy for Italian companies to invest in the area.
