December 10th, 2015 – “The Barber of Seville” has arrived in Argentina, where it will take the stage December 14-18 at the theater Picadero in Buenos Aires (Pasaje Santos Discepolo, 1857). “The Barber of Seville. In the manner of Commedia dell’Arte” was created by Pierre Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais and Cesare Sterbini, while Benoit Roland directs the company Teatroimmagine of Venice. “On this special retelling of the famous opera by Rossini – recalls the Italian Cultural Institute of Buenos Aires, which promoted the event in collaboration with the Picadero theater – the Teatroimmagine company brings to the stage a show full of originality. It’s not the classic work that we all know and we saw in the theater, but a tasty blend with elements from the Commedia dell’Arte.” “The Barber of Seville” gives its audience a show of prose, poetry and music. The Teatroimmagine company has been successful among audiences and critics alike for about twenty years, and has been widely recognized at the international level, with many tours and major prizes won at various theater festivals.
