Tehran – Last November, Italy and Iran signed in Tehran a series of four bilateral MoUs to increase commercial exchanges. While now the international community awaits for the mid-January day in which sanctions against the Middle Eastern state will begin receding (the so-called “implementation day”). This is the context in which takes place the institutional and economic mission of the Italian region Friuli Venezia Giulia. Led by the regional president Debora Serracchiani, a delegation of institutional and economic representatives will head to Tehran on January 9-13. The goal, as described by the President of Friuli Venezia Giulia, is to “lay the foundation for new partnerships with financial and governmental stakeholders in Iran and be ‘ready’ – despite the current situation is not an easy one that animates the Middle East chessboard – once the restrictive measures will be lifted.” (9Colonne)
