(28 January 2016) “An American History” is an exhibition open to the public from 30 January to 11 March at the Italian Cultural Institute of New York. The display features a selection of works produced over the past five years by Italian illustrators Emiliano Ponzi and Olimpia Zagnoli. These are two of the most famous Italian artists in the United States, whose work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Mta, New York Magazine, New York Times, New Yorker, Newsweek, Penguin Books, Time Out New York and the Washington Post. Their style is distinct and original: Ponzi offers lyrical images, soft-toned and conceptual metaphors; Zagnoli’s illustrations are identifiable by their soft forms and bold colors. Corraini will publish a catalog with interviews by Steven Guarnaccia and Paul Backley, and both the exhibition and the catalog will be curated by Melanie Gazzotti. The event is organized by the Italian Cultural Institute, with Ubi Banca and Eataly. (Red)
