Bangalore – The Italian Trade Agency is taking select Italian companies to “Indiawood”, a fair scheduled in Bangalore from tomorrow until 29 February. In Asia, India is the second destination market of Italy’s woodworking machinery exports, which in 2014 amounted to €15.1 million – for a 20.7% increase compared to the €12.5 million of 2013. In the five years from 2010 to 2014, exports almost doubled and Italy consolidated its position as second supplier, after China. Nevertheless, the ITA believes there is still considerable room for improvement given the growth potential of demand and market size. With a collective participation in one of the most important Indian fairs dedicated to the wood industry, the ITA intends to increase business opportunities for Italian technology. The presence of an official Italian pavilion at Indiawood, which will be seeking a similar promotional action carried out in 2015 at the Delhiwood fair, aims to reaffirm the strong interest of the Italian technology industry in the Indian market.
