(July 1, 2016) The objective of the study financed by the Canadian government currently being carried out by the University of Siena, the University of Toronto and the Canadian Agency for the Environment is to monitor mercury in the air to ultimately shed light on certain aspects that are less understood. The study will be discussed on Saturday July 2 in a gathering between the dean Angelo Riccaboni, political councillor of the Canadian Embassy Marc-Antoine Dumas and professors Frank Wania and Ying Duan Lei from the University of Toronto. The researchers from the two Universities are monitoring on Mount Amiata in Tuscany, producing for the first time detailed maps of mercury in the Abbadia San Salvatore area and its surrounding areas. Present at the gathering are also Member of Parliament Luigi Dallai, external affairs manager of the Canadian Embassy Enrica Abbate, and professor Francesco Frati.
