Cairo – Italferr strengthens its presence in Africa with two new projects in Egypt. The FS Group engineering company has signed with the Egyptian Railways (Recs) a management contract for the signaling system modernization works on the Benha – Zagazig – El-Ismailia – Port Said and Zagazig – Abu-Kebir corridors. The new agreement comes after the positive results obtained by Italferr for design works carried out in the same area. The activities will begin in September and will last 48 months. The order is worth 3 million euro and is in addition to activities that Italferr, in partnership with RFI and Italcertifer, is deploying for the migration project to ETCS Level 1 signaling system on the Alexandria – Cairo – Asyut corridor.
