(January 16, 2017) After the success of “Basilicata Meats New York”, which was held in New York last November, chefs Marco Chirico and Oscar Riquelme, winners of the “chef competiton” held in the Big Apple – organized via the Basilicata Region “Basilicata Mapping” project, financed by the ERDF funds and managed by Sviluppo Basilicata with the aim to raise awareness and appreciation for Lucan agri-food products in the US market – will stop in Basilicata as scheduled by the culinary competition. The competition, in fact, took place in the presence of a qualified jury composed, among others, by Giandomenico Marchese, director of the Labor, Training, Research and Development Department of the Basilicata Region, and Giampiero Maruggi, managing director of Sviluppo Basilicata, and it was made with the objective to promote and strengthen the presence of Italian cuisine abroad also through training activities for young chefs. The two winners then arrive in Basilicata for an educational experience with our chef and as a testimony to the students of hotel schools who will be attending the event, as well as to learn more about the companies and wine and food products from Basilicata (in particular those of Basilicata Fine Foods brand) to be inserted and promote through their kitchen in the USA. From January 19 to 22 the New York chefs, accompanied by Sviluppo Basilicata and the agro-industrial Lucan districts, will leave for their culinary tour of Basilicata where they will have the opportunity to visit and appreciate the products of the earth, stopping in various food companies.
