Luxor – The north wall of the burial chamber of Tutankhamun could be empty and hide the access to the never found tomb of the beautiful Nefertiti. It’s what the scholars of the Polytechnic of Turinwill are trying to find out, once and for all, as reported by La Stampa: “They’ll scan the wall where the boy pharaoh is depicted together with the successor Ay with GPR, looking for a passage over the wall. That by Turin will be the third and hopefully final analysis, after that two years ago the British archaeologist Nicholas Reeves suggested that the tomb of the wife of Akhenaten, the pharaoh who made Egypt temporarily monotheistic, father of Tutankhamun, could lie next to that of the latter. The sudden death of ‘boy pharaoh’ would prevent him from building a tomb just for himself. For this it would have been obtained in an antechamber of the tomb of Nefertiti. A hypothesis called ‘bold’ by Franco Porcelli, Professor of Physics at the Polytechnic, who worked as a scientific officer at the Italian embassy in Cairo from 2007 to 2015. He also participated in the recent discovery of one of the other mysteries of Tutankhamun: an Italy-Egypt team showed that the blade of the dagger buried with the mummy was made of material from a meteorite. The new investigation will put an end to the discussion started after the hypothesis of Reeves”. (9colonne)
