Tehran – Eni has signed two Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Iranian Oil Company (Nioc) for carrying out feasibility studies for phase 3 development of Darquain’s oil field and Kish’s offshore gas-fired power plant. The agreement envisages that the Italian company will submit within six months a proposal for the Master Development Plan. Darquain’s oil field is very well known to Eni, who has developed phases 1 and 2 in the past. The field is located between the cities of Khorramshahr and Ahvaz, in the southwestern province of Khuzestan. It is estimated that the reserves of the reservoir are around 5 billion drums, of which a fifth extractable. Darquain currently produces about 160,000 drums a day and it is expected that phase 3 development will increase the daily production capacity of 50,000 drums. (9colonne)
