Kolomna. An amazing performance by Italy in the Euro speed skating in Kolomna. Francesca Lollobrigida and Francesca Bettrone have packed an extraordinary historic double win in the Women’s Mass Start, while Andrea Giovannini won the silver medal in the men’s race. Lollobrigida won the continental title with a time of 8: 38.69, 5 hundredths ahead of teammate Bettrone and 64 hundredths ahead of the Austrian Vanessa Herzog – at the end of a race dominated by Francesca & Francesca, able to write the story of Italian speed skating blue, which had never reached the women’s podium of a European championship. Giovannini, on the other hand, was only surpassed by the Dutchman Blokhuijsen, who finished with a time of 8: 23.19, preceding him by only 9 hundredths. Third and bronze medalist is the Russian Zakharov, filling the podium. (9Colonne)
