(Sept. 13) – The Cardiology ward of the Grosseto Hospital “Misericordia” again protagonist of the international scientific community thanks to two original researches presented last weeks in Munich, at the European Congress of Cardiology, the leading international event in the sector. The first reasearch is an epidemiological study on the incidence of primary cardiac tumors in the population of the province of Grosseto, conducted by Dr. Alberto Cresti. It’s the first in the world and therefore the only one available in the literature on this disease, one of the less investigated in oncology, of which, to date, we only knew the epidemiological assessments drawn from surgical cases and autopsies performed. The other presentation, carried out by the Laboratory of Hemodynamics of Mercy, is about the effects of some innovative drugs used in patients with acute myocardial infarction and undergoing coronary angioplasty. The first research has studied about 218,000 people from that area for 14 years, from 1998 to 2011. The second research – called “Eurovision” – is an international study of over 2000 patients enrolled in 58 centers in Italy, France, Germany, Austria and England. (red)
