Oct. 4 – The Roman university LUISS Guido Carli consolidated its parternship with China today: four professors from LUISS (Mario Nuzzo – Civil Law; Attilio Zimatore – Private Law; Barbara De Donno – Comparative Private Law; and Maurizio Bellacosa – Penal Law) will head to the Beijing Normal University, one of the most prestigious and ancient universities in China. In fact, BNU is a celebrated university for its ability to combine the crucial passage of academic training in the entire continent, with particular attention granted to international cooperation. The partnership, an all-time first for the LUISS Law Department with a Chinese institution, includes student and professor exchanges, as well as cooperation on scientific projects, and double post-graduate studies programs. In the first months of 2013 the areas of interest and specific programs will be defined, so that by next summer the list of preconditions will be ready to begin student exchange programs. This success follows the invitation, a year ago, for Paola Severino, then dean of Penal Law, to conduct a series of conferences and seminars in Beijing. The agreement was signed after a seminar on financial investor protection in Italy, and the signatories were the Dean of the Law School at BNU, Zhao Bing-Zhi, and the Italian representatives at the Embassy in Beijing. This partnership with BNU represents yet another step to LUISS’s internationalization vocation.
