Dec. 3 – Thohir and football are not the only East Asia elements in Lombardy. “As of today – shows a study by Invest in Lombardy, a structure of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan and Promos dedicated to attracting investments – there are 32 Hong Kong companies in Lombardy, of which 21 in Milan, for a total turnover of over €2.5 billion. Chinese companies are even more present in the region, with 68 in total of which 39 in Milan; together, they generate a total turnover of €1.13 billion. Singapore companies based in Lombardy are only 10, including 7 in Milan, for a total turnover of just over € 330 million. These companies employ more than 5,250 people throughout Lombardy and generate a total turnover of almost €4 billion. They are based mainly in Milan, Bergamo and Monza.” Until Friday, the Chamber of Commerce of Milan is managing a mission in Southeast Asia to promote the Lombard economic system and attract new investors. The mission involves three cities: Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore. In the Chinese capital, representatives of Invest in Lombardy will meet with fifteen potential investors in the textile , automotive, real estate and mechanics sectors. In Hong Kong, the mission will involve a dozen automotive and logistics companies. The last leg of the mission takes place in Singapore where, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Bergamo and Belluzzo & Partners, a conference by the title of “Lombardy : your business hub towards Expo 2015” will be held at the UBS Singapore offices.  The event will see the participation of the Italian ambassador in Singapore, Paolo Crudele; and represents an opportunity to meet fifty companies of Singapore’s real-estate sector, as well as investment funds concerned, in particular, with Italian fashion and local institutions.
