(Apr. 8) The Duo Alterno (soprano Tiziana Scandaletti and composer and pianist Riccardo Piacentini) continues to celebrate the anniversary of the Great War around the world. The appointment with the show “1914-2014: à la vie! Letters of war and love poems on the centenary of the Great War” will be in Hong Kong on April 20 (8 pm, Youth Square Y-Theatre, 238 Chai Wan Road), thanks to the promotion and organization of the Italian Cultural Institute of Hong Kong in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy. Born in Turin and now considered one of the most significant piano – vocal experiences in contemporary music, the Duo Alterno has, since its debut in Vancouver in 1997, given concerts and master classes on contemporary music in more than thirty countries. Many composers (among them Giacomo Manzoni and Ennio Morricone) have composed for Scandaletti, who is also Professor of Vocal Chamber Music at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome, and pianist and composer Piacentini, who is Professor of Composition at the Conservatorio Vivaldi of Alessandria.
