Mexico City – The University of Siena is in Mexico for the project Plastic Busters, which studies the presence of microplastics in seas, and their impact on marine life. The expedition will continue until November 20 in the Sea of Cortez, to assess the impact of microplastics on the fin whale. The results will then be compared with the studies carried out on the whale that inhabits the Mediterranean Sea. The project is a collaboration between the University of Siena, coordinated by Professor Maria Cristina Fossi, with the University of Baja California and Professor Jorge Hurban’s research group, together with the environmentalist association Sea Shepherd.
