November 30th, 2015 – A timeless artist creates his music with just a piano, pencil and paper. One of these unique geniuses, Gabriele Ciampi, has become the first Italian composer to play his own compositions at the White House. On December 8, Ciampi will play in front of the President of the United States Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, in an exclusive concert for the traditional White House Holiday Tour, an annual event organized by the presidential family for a select audience. The invitation came directly from the American First Lady and adds another prestigious award to the career of the Italian Maestro. Ciampi is also the first Italian classical / contemporary composer under 40 who has had the honor of performing in this prestigious occasion. Ciampi will conduct the George Washington University Orchestra (35 items), presenting his concert for piano and orchestra in A major, that will have its world premiere during tonight’s concert at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan. “Following the release in America of my album The Minimalist Evolution – explains Maestro Ciampi – I wrote directly to the First Lady a letter enclosing a copy. After a few months, I received a totally unexpected response, with a gentle praise for my music and with the official invitation to present a concert program for one of the events in the White House Holiday Tour”.
