London – Trenitalia is the only company without a base of operations in the UK to have prequalified for the next railway tenders to take place in Great Britain. The Italian company is also the only new entry in the list released by the Department of Transportation of the British government. The Department confirms its choice, done according to high professional qualifications, experience in domestic and international contexts, technical ability and safety standards. Having succeeded, along with a few other operators, this initial selection, Trenitalia has earned the PPQ (pre-qualification questionnaire) passport and will therefore participate in all the tenders open in the UK for the next four years without the need to present every time all necessary documents.
