(August 8, 2016) The basic training course for military (Basic and Combat Medical Care) has recently ended. It was organised by the Italian contingent of Unifil in favour of Lebanese armed forces and foreign military contingents operating in the ranks of Sector West. Italian doctors and nurses in the Shama base held a two-day theoretical and practical course focused on treating combat wounds and on evacuation procedures of the wounded. These are notions that are essential for the survival of military personnel in the case of a real threat. The pupils of the course have put into practice, in simulated situations, arterial and venal haemorrhaging through the use of haemostatic bandaging and tourniquets. (Red)
