(October 31, 2016) On Tuesday, October 25 have kicked off the last 5 online training courses for teachers of Italian abroad, provided by ICoN Consortium under the agreement signed with the Directorate General for Italians Abroad of the Ministry Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Since last August 23 31 courses were activated for teachers of Italian of institutions from 12 different countries. More than 600 teachers are currently involved in the renewed ICoN platform in the study of the main themes of Italian teaching and digital teaching fundamentals. The management of the 31 virtual classrooms is entrusted to 13 teachers with experience on the subject, specially trained by ICoN, which, supported by a facilitator, follow the teachers in virtual classes, proposing activities and practical exercises and favoring methods of construction of shared knowledge . Each of the five courses explores a specific theme of Italian teaching: from instructional design, the role of modern and contemporary narrative language in education, the analysis of the error until the evaluation concept. The budget today is certainly positive: “These courses – says Elisa Bianchi, coordinator of ICoN teachers and guardians – are designed to flexibly and effectively respond to the demand for education of teachers, but also to enhance, through the sharing and comparison within the virtual classroom, the knowledge and skills they already possess. Teachers appreciated this formula, which, thanks to a highly standardized teaching delivery, allows them to combine education with their work commitments, with an absolutely sustainable workload”.
