London. People susceptible to hypnosis are able to reduce by half the intensity of perceived. This is one of the conclusions of a complex study conducted by a team of researchers from the Universities of Pisa and Siena, the CNR and the GIFT Institute of Integrative Medicine in Pisa that has just been published in the scientific journal Physiology and Behaviour. The experiment, which confirms and deepens what we know about pain control, is the first to compare the effects of physical techniques (conditioned analgesia) and cognitive (explicit influences of analgesia) in subjects with varying degree of hypnotism.
