Tangiers. The Magneti Marelli Group signed an agreement with the Ministry of Industry and Economy of Morocco for the construction of an industrial site specialised in the production of automotive parts, starting from shock absorbers. The industrial settlement will be located in Tangiers, in the free zone of “Tanger Automotive City” and will extend over an area of approximately 20,000 square meters, with the possibility of subsequent expansions. The plant will have a production capacity of about 6 million units. Production startup is planned by 2019, while a number of employees will be expected to reach about 500 by 2025. The project will require a total investment of around 37 million euros and will benefit from the support of the Moroccan state envisaged in the country’s industrial automotive industry policies. The activity will initially be aimed at producing shock absorbers for cars and commercial vehicles, with the possibility of expanding to other products. (9Colonne)
