Aug. 1 – Coming soon to Sao Paulo, entrepreneurs, managers, institutions and businesses will focus on Italian talent, creativity, inventiveness and ingenuity. Brazil is getting ready to host the “Festival of Creative Economy” and Italy is fully prepared for the occasion, showcasing its excellence and seducing a market as modern and as multicultural as Brazil with a more aware and informed generation of consumers. The economic heart of South America, with the 8th largest GDP in the world and with a growth rate that will see the country place in the Top 5 within a decade, Brazil represents an incredible opportunity for Italy. Yet, it is a tough market, with fierce competition among local manufacturers in many of the industries in which our country excels: fashion, furniture, and food. It also maintains a certain level of protectionism, with high barriers for imports. From these considerations comes the Festival of Creative Economics – Italia S / A, an event that, between November 5-7 in Sao Paulo, which will recount the experiences of Italy’s creative companies that transformed their culture in innovation and production. Three days of events, exhibitions and meetings will create a dialogue among important players within Italy’s creative excellence and a selected Brazilian public. The project is curated by Diomedea, research and communication company working with both European and Brazilian institutions and companies in the fashion and design sector; it is also promoted by Brazil A / A, a company that for four years now realizes, during Milan’s design week, an event-exhibition on the culture and trends of Brazilian design. “Italy, its culture, its design – said Enrico Cietta, senior partner of Diomedea – has always had a huge appeal for Brazilians, in relation to the fact that these elements are part of their culture and the common principles of their European origins. Yet, today, Italian design and more generally made-in-Italy production is not perceived as avant-garde, associated with elegance rather than innovation. We believe we are still in time to reverse this perception with the story of creative enterprises known for their ability of being innovative in creativity. We want to bring to light Italy’s economic system and those companies that represent the hidden champions of Italian know-how.”
