Feb. 21 – “Quality, excellence, image and size” are, according to Gianni Zonin, President of Zonin Winery and of the Banca Popolare di Vicenza, the essential qualities for a successful company, able to export its products all over the world. Yesterday morning, at the Quirinale, Zonin received the 2013 Leonardo Prize, the award promoted by Confindustria and ICE delivered each year to an Italian or foreign personality who has contributed significantly to affirm and promote the image of Italy around the world. “It’s a great satisfaction for my family, my company and my employees – said Zonin – who are constantly giving their best on the job, and helped our company grow, internationalize and export. The perception of Made in Italy goods has improved considerably around the world, and today we export to 104 countries – said Zonin – but Italian companies overall are still too small, and have to make an effort to increase their size. Without a doubt, the government should play its part in this phase.” Zonin explains that “the goal for Zonin Winery is to grow intelligently, without taking too big a-step but never standing still, waiting. We are taking all the necessary steps keep the company afloat in a competitive world. This award – he concluded – is just a recognition of the 200 year long process that brought Zonin Winery where it is today, and that we hope, will still take us a long way.”
